Does Your Home Make Your Happy?

South Africans have been at home a lot more these days, you may find your home becoming more than just a home, but rather an office, classroom and gym. It is easy to get sick and tired of these spaces after spending days on end in the same area, but there are simple and inexpensive ways to revitalise and refresh your home environment.

Give your home some TLC with these 5 tips.

Break up your spaces

The best thing about having an office is you can get away from your home, and when you do come back home, you can leave the office behind. Now that we are all at home much more presents a problem; you can't leave work behind. To solve this problem, segment your spaces, find a quiet corner in your home and dedicate it to work and make it your office, dedicate an area for workouts whether it be in the lounge or garage, and dedicate spaces for leisure. Doing this will allow you to stay less stressed, more organised and be happier overall with organised spaces.

Colours & Textures

After a while, any wall, couch and pillows can begin to look boring and drab, couple this with the fact that we are home much more often and these walls couches and pillows begin to really stand out. Lighten up and refresh your space with some new nice touchy-feelies for your home. Some new fresh coloured pillows for your favourite couch will really catch your eye and make the space stand out. Because we are in winter, cover your spaces and living areas in soft-touch blankets and throws. And last but not least, add some colour! Change the colour of your lounge wall to a colour that really brings the space together.

Sprucing up your spaces

There's nothing worse than finding someone else's things all over the place. This is ever more relevant whilst we are all at home much more frequently and on top of each other, which is why it is ever-more important to go through your home and do some sprucing up. Throw away everything that you don't need, re-organise your spaces and set some boundaries with your partner, roommate or family member that might be cluttering your de-cluttering work.

Add some greenery

We all have that one friend that is obsessed with plants in their home, and there is a limit to how much greenery you can accumulate in your home, with that said it is needed. Adding some life into your spaces will liven up the place, literally. Having some life in your place will give you some routine too, watering every day and seeing the progress that your little plants make is very rewarding.

Lighting is everything

One of the most wanted attributes of an office is natural lighting, and why should your new home office be any different. Changing up the lighting in your home is vital to making it a more enjoyable space, either through making your office in an area with natural lighting or buying some new bulbs to create a warmer lighting experience anywhere else.
